I’m a storyteller at heart and entrepreneur by profession. I co-owned Pistols Firing Blog, an Oklahoma State Sports blog, before launching into a full-time career in media at CBS Sports. Writing about stories that matter while making personal and lasting connections with people is the best part of my job.
Outside of work I enjoy coffee, an occasional round of golf, running in nature and a good book. Inside of work, as you can see from the previous sentence, I am staunchly anti-Oxford comma.
Fun facts about me include:
- I once willingly jumped out of a plane and lived to tell about it.
- Bill Murray once sat in my assigned seat and I had to kindly ask the Caddyshack star (and Groundhog Day star, and Ghostbusters star, etc.) to find a new spot. Yes, it took as much courage as you’d think that would.

- I’m a two-time testicular cancer survivor who is passionate about helping others in their cancer journeys. Today, I am involved in several cancer foundations as a voluntary support resource for early testicular cancer detection and prevention. My email is an open door and I am an open book.
- Legendary coach Avery Johnson once told me I “present well on TV.” No, I did not pay him to say that, and yes, it is one of my career highlights. I promised him I’d add that to my résumé someday.
